Zapping the ear to ease alcohol detox?
NCT ID NCT07281261
Summary
This study is testing whether a small, wearable device that gently stimulates nerves in the ear can help people with alcohol use disorder get through detox. Participants will wear the device for five days while staying at a clinic to see if it reduces withdrawal symptoms, cravings, and the need for medication. Researchers will also use brain scans to see if the treatment changes how parts of the brain involved in craving communicate.
