Zapping the ear to ease the gut: new hope for stubborn constipation?

NCT ID NCT07344402

Summary

This study is testing if a gentle, non-invasive electrical stimulation applied to the outer ear can improve symptoms for adults with constipation that hasn't responded well to standard treatments. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the real stimulation or a sham (fake) treatment for 20 days to see if it helps them have more regular, complete bowel movements. The research also aims to understand how the treatment might work and check for any side effects.
