Ear zaps may unlock stomach nerve secrets

NCT ID NCT06491758

First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study explores whether stimulating a nerve in the ear can reach the vagus nerve, which controls stomach function. Researchers will test this in 131 healthy volunteers and people with gastroparesis (a stomach condition causing nausea and vomiting). The goal is to see if this approach could lead to new treatments for stomach disorders.
