Ear zaps tested to soothe painful pancreas attacks

NCT ID NCT06998784

Summary

This study tested whether a gentle, non-invasive stimulation of a nerve in the ear could help patients with sudden, painful inflammation of the pancreas (acute pancreatitis). Researchers enrolled 60 hospitalized patients to see if this treatment could reduce their pain and other distressing symptoms faster and help them start eating again sooner. The goal was to see if this approach could improve recovery by calming inflammation and helping the gut work better.
