Ear surgeons test which patch job works best
NCT ID NCT07149480
Summary
This study compared two ways to surgically repair a hole in the eardrum caused by long-term ear infections. Doctors tested 60 adults to see whether placing the repair patch between the eardrum layers (interlay) or underneath them (underlay) leads to better hearing improvement after surgery. The goal was to find which technique gives patients the best results for restoring their hearing.
