Ear seeds vs. hives: can acupressure boost allergy meds?

NCT ID NCT07575464

First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding ear acupressure (tiny seed patches on ear points) to a standard antihistamine (Loratadine) can better relieve hives and itching in people with Wind-Heat type urticaria. 66 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either real or fake acupressure for 4 weeks. The goal is to see if the combination improves symptom scores and quality of life more than the antihistamine alone.
