Do vape ads make smoking look cool to teens?
NCT ID NCT03786042
Summary
This study aimed to understand if seeing e-cigarette advertisements makes teens more likely to start smoking regular cigarettes. Researchers worked with 139 adolescents to measure how these ads might change their positive thoughts about smoking and their perception of how common smoking is. They used eye-tracking and reaction-time tests to see what parts of the ads teens focused on and how quickly they linked smoking with positive words.
