New app aims to stop Kids' eyes from getting worse during screen time
NCT ID NCT07390500
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
The DYMOND study is testing a digital app called TrackSight that may slow myopia (nearsightedness) in children aged 6 to 12. The app uses eye-tracking to keep central vision clear while slightly blurring the edges of the screen, based on principles that influence eye growth. About 150 kids in Israel and Hong Kong will use the app during normal screen time for 12 months to see if it safely slows the worsening of their eyesight.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
TrackSight digital medical application (device)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a non-invasive, screen-based way to slow myopia progression in children, reducing the need for stronger glasses later.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 2 trial with only 150 participants, so results may not apply to all children. The effect may be small or not better than no treatment.
