Could a bone density scan replace X-Rays for scoliosis?
NCT ID NCT06512038
First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether a special type of X-ray called DXA can measure spine curves in scoliosis as well as regular X-rays. About 20 children and teens with scoliosis will have both scans, and researchers will compare the images and ask patients which they prefer. The goal is to see if DXA can reduce radiation exposure and help with brace design.
