New dissolving film could tame dust mite allergies without shots
NCT ID NCT07475715
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a daily dissolving film placed under the tongue to treat dust mite allergic rhinitis (hay fever). About 250 adults in China will use either the active film or a placebo for one year. The goal is to see if the film reduces sneezing, stuffiness, and the need for rescue allergy medication.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
sublingual film containing dust mite allergen extract
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a convenient daily treatment that reduces hay fever symptoms and the need for allergy pills or sprays.
What could go wrong
This is an early phase 2 trial with only 250 people, so results may not apply to everyone. Allergic reactions to the film itself are possible.
