New hope for aggressive lung cancer: can immunotherapy boost standard treatment?

NCT ID NCT04602533

Summary

This study is testing if adding a drug called durvalumab (an immunotherapy) to the standard treatment of chemotherapy and radiation helps people with limited-stage small cell lung cancer live longer without their cancer getting worse. About 105 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard treatment alone or the standard treatment plus durvalumab, followed by ongoing durvalumab maintenance therapy. The main goal is to see if the combination treatment better controls the disease over time.
