Summary

This study tests whether duloxetine, a nerve pain medication, can reduce the amount of narcotics needed after hip replacement surgery. About 64 adults having a first-time hip replacement will receive either duloxetine or a placebo before and after surgery. The goal is to see if duloxetine leads to less pain and lower narcotic use.
