Double fix for tough wrist breaks: nail and plate combo tested
NCT ID NCT07440251
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests a new surgical method for fixing hard-to-treat breaks in the distal ulna (a wrist bone). Instead of using one device, surgeons will use both a flexible rod inside the bone and a small plate on the outside. The goal is to see if this combined approach helps the bone heal better and allows patients to move their wrist sooner. The study will include 18 adults with unstable fractures.
