Experimental eye drops aim to target genetic cause of blinding corneal disease

NCT ID NCT07024693

Summary

This study is testing an experimental eye drop called DT-168 in patients with Fuchs Endothelial Corneal Dystrophy (FECD), a genetic eye disease that can cause vision loss and often requires a corneal transplant. The main goal is to see if the drops can affect the underlying genetic problem in the eye and to check if they are safe and well-tolerated. The study will enroll 28 patients who are already scheduled for a transplant, allowing researchers to examine the treated eye tissue after surgery.
