Needle therapy trial aims to loosen muscles and improve walking after stroke

NCT ID NCT06017960

Summary

This study is testing if a therapy called dry needling can reduce painful muscle stiffness (spasticity) and improve walking in people who have had a stroke. 28 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either real or fake (sham) dry needling in their calf muscle once a week for four weeks. Researchers will measure muscle stiffness, muscle activity, and walking ability to see if the treatment helps.
