First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding dry needling (a technique using thin needles) to standard physical therapy can reduce pain and improve jaw movement in people with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain. About 100 adults with TMJ pain but no joint damage will be randomly assigned to receive either standard therapy alone or standard therapy plus dry needling. The goal is to see if the combination provides better pain relief and quality of life.
