First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looked at whether dry needling, a therapy where thin needles are inserted into muscle trigger points, can improve insulin resistance in obese women who have gone through menopause. 52 women aged 48-60 with a BMI over 25 took part. The main goal was to see changes in a measure called HOMA-IR, which reflects how well the body uses insulin.
