Needles vs. placebo: can a quick prick ease your aching back?
NCT ID NCT06338514
Summary
This study is testing whether a treatment called dry needling can help reduce pain and improve daily function for people with chronic upper back pain caused by tight muscle knots (myofascial pain syndrome). Researchers will compare real dry needling to a fake (sham) procedure in 50 adults to see which is more effective. Both the patients and the people assessing their pain won't know who got the real treatment, which helps ensure the results are unbiased.
