First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at how bacteria on the eye's surface relate to dry eye symptoms. Fifty adults with dry eye were randomly assigned to receive either cyclosporine A plus artificial tears or artificial tears alone. Researchers collected eye samples and symptom scores over 12 weeks to see if changes in the eye microbiome were linked to symptom improvement.
