Scientists test safety of mixing common cold remedies
NCT ID NCT07017335
Summary
This early-stage study tested how two medications—one for cough (levodropropizine) and one from a geranium plant extract (Pelargonium sidoides)—interact when taken together. Researchers gave 24 healthy adults each drug alone and in combination, measuring drug levels in their blood to see if one affects how the body processes the other. The goal was to gather safety data to see if these medications could be safely combined in future treatments for coughs and colds.
