Scientists test common Drug's effect on cancer medication

NCT ID NCT05063318

Summary

This study aimed to understand how a common antifungal drug (itraconazole) affects the body's processing of a cancer medication (lurbinectedin). It involved 14 patients with advanced solid tumors who received both drugs in different sequences. The main goal was to measure drug levels in the blood to guide future safe prescribing, not to test the cancer drug's effectiveness.
