Heart drug and painkiller may change how other medicines work

NCT ID NCT06566794

First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looked at how two common drugs—carvedilol (for heart conditions) and diclofenac (a painkiller)—affect the liver's ability to process other medications. Twelve healthy adults took a mix of test drugs after receiving either carvedilol, diclofenac, or a placebo. Researchers measured drug levels in the blood to see if these drugs cause interactions that could change how other medicines work.
