Weight loss surgery may change how birth control works – new study

Summary
This study checks if bariatric surgery changes how the body absorbs drospirenone-only birth control pills. Sixteen obese Thai women who need contraception will take the pill before and after surgery, and their blood levels will be measured. The goal is to see if the surgery affects how well the pill works.
