AI eye check: could this tool replace doctors for diabetes vision screening?
NCT ID NCT07222293
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tests an AI tool called DRISTi that looks at eye images to find signs of diabetic retinopathy, a condition that can cause vision loss in people with diabetes. About 900 adults with diabetes will have their eyes photographed, and the AI's results will be compared to expert human graders. The goal is to see if DRISTi is accurate enough to be used as a reliable screening tool.
