First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looks at whether placing a drainage tube in the belly after live donor liver surgery is necessary or if skipping it is safer. About 80 healthy liver donors will be randomly assigned to receive a drain or not. The main goal is to compare overall complications using a standard scoring system, to see if avoiding drains reduces infections and speeds recovery.
