Helical glasses aim to halt Kids' worsening eyesight
NCT ID NCT05894382
Summary
This study is testing whether a new type of eyeglass lens, designed with a special double helix pattern, can safely slow down the progression of nearsightedness in children and teenagers. The glasses are meant to be worn daily and work by creating a specific defocus signal that may inhibit the eye from growing too long, which is the main cause of worsening myopia. The trial involves 236 Chinese children aged 6-13 who will be randomly assigned to wear either these new glasses or standard ones to compare their effectiveness.
