New drug dotinurad takes on febuxostat in heart health showdown

Summary

This study tests whether dotinurad is better than febuxostat at improving blood vessel health in people with both high uric acid and high blood pressure. About 360 adults will take one of the two drugs for 24 weeks. The main goal is to see changes in a measure of artery stiffness called CAVI.
