Can a denser dose of rituximab stop ITP relapses in kids?

NCT ID NCT04323748

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving rituximab more frequently (dose dense) can improve remission and reduce relapse in children and teens aged 1 to 21 with newly diagnosed, high-risk immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP). Participants must have a very low platelet count and at least one high-risk feature like age 10 or older, significant bleeding, or a positive ANA test. The study will monitor safety and how many patients achieve a stable platelet count without needing long-term medication.
