New device aims to drain fluid when pills fail in heart failure crisis

NCT ID NCT05206422

Summary

This study is testing a new catheter device designed to help hospitalized patients with severe heart failure who are not responding to standard diuretic (water pill) treatment. The device is inserted into a vein to help the body remove excess fluid that builds up in the lungs and body. Researchers will check if the procedure is safe and if it helps patients produce more urine to relieve fluid overload.
