New ultrasound technique may ease shoulder pain without extra shots

Summary
This study looks at whether using color Doppler ultrasound—which shows blood flow—can improve treatment for painful calcium deposits in the shoulder. About 100 adults with chronic shoulder pain and calcium buildup will get an ultrasound-guided injection. Half will also have Doppler imaging to guide the doctor. The goal is to see if this extra information reduces pain enough to avoid a second injection.
