Specialized center vs. shelter: which helps women recover better?
NCT ID NCT04304469
Summary
This study compared two approaches to supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse. Researchers followed 67 women who received help either at a specialized center offering medical, social, and legal services or at conventional shelters. They measured symptoms of post-traumatic stress at the start and six months later to see which approach might lead to better psychological recovery.
