First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving a doll to a child before surgery can lower their anxiety and reduce confusion after waking up. About 120 girls aged 3-7 having tonsil or adenoid surgery will either bring their own doll, get one from the hospital, or have no doll. Researchers will measure anxiety levels and check for post-surgery confusion to see if the dolls help.
