Puppy power: can therapy dogs calm Kids' medical fears?
NCT ID NCT06468111
Summary
This study is testing whether spending time with a trained therapy dog can help reduce fear and anxiety in children during blood draws or dental extractions. Researchers will compare 120 children aged 3-12 who receive standard care against those who interact with a dog before, during, and after their procedure. The goal is to see if the dog's presence makes the experience less stressful for children, their families, and easier for medical staff.
