Paws for peace: dog training program aims to ease PTSD in veterans

Summary

This study looks at whether adopting and training a shelter dog can help veterans who have post-traumatic stress symptoms or other mental health issues. Over 10 weeks, 120 veterans will attend eight dog training sessions and have four check-ups. Researchers will measure changes in PTSD symptoms, stress, and brain activity to see if the program improves well-being.
