First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at whether showing patients a short animation video or a 3D model of a skull before jaw surgery helps reduce their anxiety. Thirty adults scheduled for surgery were split into three groups: one got only standard verbal information, another also watched a video, and the third also saw a 3D skull model. Their anxiety was measured before and after the information session to see if the visual tools made a difference.
