Summary

This study is testing whether small disinfectant caps placed on the ends of central IV lines can prevent dangerous bloodstream infections in hospital patients. The research will involve 120 patients in a neurological intensive care unit in Germany who have these IV lines. The goal is to see if these caps, which contain alcohol, reduce infection rates compared to standard care.
