Simple cap could slash deadly ICU infections

NCT ID NCT07430215

First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests whether using special disinfectant caps on central line catheters reduces bloodstream infections in intensive care patients. About 120 adults in a neurological ICU will be observed. The caps are already used as a quality improvement measure, so this is not a new treatment but a check on how well they work.
