First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested whether a procedure called drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE) can help doctors choose the right non-CPAP treatment for people with obstructive sleep apnea who cannot use a CPAP machine. Thirty-five adults who refused CPAP underwent DISE to see where their airway collapses during sleep, and then received personalized therapy. The goal was to measure changes in their apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) after three months.
