New gel injection could beat steroids for back pain relief

Summary

This study compares two treatments for long-term lower back pain caused by damaged discs. One is a gel called DISCOGEL, and the other is a steroid injection. About 230 adults with pain lasting at least 8 weeks will receive one of the two treatments. The goal is to see which one provides better pain relief over time.
