Single-Patient study probes heart Drug's immediate effect
NCT ID NCT06534671
Summary
This study tested whether a single dose of the blood pressure medication diltiazem could quickly shorten a dangerous long QT interval in adults with Jervell and Lange-Nielsen syndrome, a rare genetic heart condition. It involved just one participant who received the drug through an IV during a single visit, with heart measurements taken immediately afterward. The goal was to gather basic knowledge about how this existing drug might affect this specific syndrome.
