E-Book coaching boosts COPD Self-Care in seniors
NCT ID NCT07419906
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether a digital multimedia education program could help older adults (60+) with COPD better manage their condition. Participants used an e-book on their phones or computers, guided by a nurse, over 8 weeks. The goal was to improve disease knowledge, self-care behaviors, and quality of life.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
E-book on Pulmonary Obstruction (behavioral intervention)
What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could provide a simple, low-cost way to help older adults with COPD better manage their condition at home.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed study with only 51 participants, so results may not apply to all COPD patients. The intervention is educational, not a treatment for the disease itself.
