New hope for dialysis patients: drug targets debilitating itch

Summary

This study tests whether the drug difelikefalin can reduce severe itching in people with advanced kidney disease who are on dialysis. About 106 adults will receive either the drug or a placebo during their dialysis sessions for 6 weeks. The main goal is to see if itching scores improve, and the study will also check if quality of life gets better.
