NCT ID NCT07329647

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This pilot study tests whether a 14-day course of nitrate-rich beetroot juice can improve memory and brain blood flow in 25 adults with cognitive decline due to small vessel disease or diabetes. Researchers believe the nitrate in the juice may help the brain's blood vessels respond better to mental activity. The study compares the juice against a placebo to see if it truly enhances cognitive performance.
