Breathe better, move better: study tests deep breathing with pilates
NCT ID NCT07652229
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether adding diaphragmatic (deep belly) breathing exercises to regular Pilates can improve core muscle strength, breathing power, and chest expansion in healthy women. Forty-four women aged 20-50 who already do Pilates will be split into two groups: one does Pilates alone, the other adds breathing exercises. Both groups train twice a week for 8 weeks. The goal is to see if the breathing exercises provide extra benefits.

- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could show a simple way to boost the benefits of Pilates for breathing and core strength.
