Breathing breakthrough? simple ultrasound could replace invasive tests

NCT ID NCT07253480

Not yet recruiting Knowledge-focused Sponsor: Isala Source: ClinicalTrials.gov ↗

Summary

This study aims to test if a special type of ultrasound can safely and accurately measure the pressure created by the main breathing muscle (the diaphragm). Researchers will test this new method in 12 healthy adults by comparing it to standard, more invasive measurements. If successful, this could lead to a new, painless way to monitor patients with severe lung disease after surgery.
