New wound dressings battle to heal diabetic foot sores faster

NCT ID NCT07046403

Summary

This study tested two advanced wound treatments to see which helps diabetic foot ulcers heal better. Researchers compared a collagen-based skin substitute against a membrane made from human amniotic tissue, both used alongside standard wound care. The trial involved 120 adults with long-standing foot ulcers to measure healing speed, wound closure rates, and quality of the new skin.
