Skin stiffness test could prevent diabetic foot amputations

NCT ID NCT07470255

First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to detect early damage in the feet of people with diabetes. By measuring how the skin on the bottom of the foot responds to pressure, researchers hope to find signs of trouble before ulcers form. The study will include 200 people, both with and without diabetes, to see if this skin test can predict who is at risk for foot ulcers and amputations.
