Eye injections vs. surgery: major trial seeks best way to save vision from diabetes

Summary
This study is comparing two different approaches to treat a serious eye complication of diabetes called proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). It will test whether a series of eye injections combined with laser therapy works as well as or better than a single eye surgery. Researchers will follow 426 adults for three years to see which treatment better preserves vision, requires fewer follow-up procedures, and has fewer complications.
