New tool aims to spot diabetes risk before it starts after major surgery

NCT ID NCT07436273

Summary

This study aimed to create a tool that can predict a patient's risk of developing diabetes after surgery to remove part of the pancreas. Researchers looked back at the medical records of 575 patients who had this surgery to identify factors linked to developing diabetes afterward. They then built and tested different prediction models to find the best one for helping doctors identify high-risk patients early.
