Summary
This study is testing whether a single injection into the middle ear can repair hearing nerve damage caused by type 2 diabetes. The treatment aims to improve the ability to understand speech in noisy environments, which is often the first sign of this type of hearing problem. Researchers will enroll 135 adults with type 2 diabetes who have normal hearing but struggle with speech in noise.
